Our story began in 1982 when we began sourcing for the best coffee beans the world has to offer. We strongly believed that the key to producing the best cup of coffee lay greatly in Coffee Roasting and Sourcing of Green Beans.
As coffee lovers ourselves, we ensured every step taken in roasting our coffee beans were carried out with utmost sincerity, integrity and the highest quality standards. It is the same unwavering philosophy that had driven us to become one of the most advanced and innovative players in the coffee industry today.
Company Milestone
As we grew, our vision expanded. Venturing into the B2B space, we became known as “The Brand Behind Many Brands.” Today, Mister Coffee stands as one of Malaysia’s largest family-owned coffee companies, with over 40 million cups brewed annually.
1982
The journey began with the founder selling coffee in the local market, introducing the idea of freshly ground coffee on demand. Back then, the company was known as Muar Tai Huat Trading. What started as a small roasting operation in a backyard mini factory quickly grew, as the business began supplying coffee directly to traditional Kopitiam (local-style coffee shops).
1994
As demand grew, the company moved to a larger site, a 2.5-acre factory, laying the foundation for future expansion.
1995
Just a year later, the business transitioned from a sole proprietorship to a private limited company, signaling its growth into a more structured enterprise.
1996
To improve quality, Mister Coffee invested in a PROBAT roasting machine from Germany, marking the start of its journey into gourmet coffee roasting.
2000
The company expanded into Singapore, entering the market through Giant Supermarket and reaching international customers for the first time.
2006
Innovation continued with the adoption of Modified Atmosphere Packaging (M.A.P) technology, ensuring all gourmet coffee beans stayed fresh for longer.
2007
State-of-the-art Italian technology was brought in to produce single-serve coffee pods, setting the stage for modern convenience.
2010
The factory achieved Halal certification for its processes and products, an important step in serving a wider customer base.
2011
Mister Coffee made its first export to Indonesia with its coffee pod products, extending its footprint in Southeast Asia.
2013
Japanese machines were introduced to produce single-serve Drip Brew Coffee and Coffee Bags with Tags, diversifying the product line.
2017
Marking 35 years of excellence, Mister Coffee celebrated its anniversary, achieved HACCP compliance, and proudly received the Top Brand award.
2018
The factory and office were expanded by an additional 17,625 square feet to meet growing production needs.
2019
This year saw the direct import of Black Tea from Indonesia, the installation of a nitrogen generator, and the arrival of a VFFS machine from Italy to package coffee in sizes from 200g up to 3000g.
2020
Mister Coffee invested once again in advanced Italian technology to produce single-serve coffee capsules, compatible with Nespresso, Lavazza Blue, Dolce Gusto, and K-Cup systems.
2023
A landmark year, Mister Coffee added new packing and roasting machines, earned Indonesia Halal certification for OEM projects, and launched a solar energy initiative on its factory rooftop. Recognized as a SuperBrand, it successfully listed products nationwide in Lotus Malaysia, began OEM exports to Australia, and extended its factory once again.
